Co Managing Director Murara Plants

HilverdaFlorist is looking for a candidate for the new position of Co Managing Director for Murara Plants.

To achieve further growth of the company with a focus on regional sales and setting up contract propagation of vegetative crops for third parties it is necessary to strengthen the management of Murara Plants. The new Commercial Director will be working closely with the General Director of Murara Plants. Together they are responsible for achieving the growth objectives.

Description:

• Leading and motivating the marketing and sales department.

• Drawing up and monitoring marketing and sales budgets.

• Creating sales plans and adjusting existing plans.

• Translating the marketing strategy into concrete actions.

• Emphasis on developing the local management, coordination, cooperation, monitoring and control.

• Reports to the Director Inetrnational of HilverdaFlorist (Netherlands).

• At least 10 years of relevant working experience in managerial positions, preferably in horticulture.
• Willingness to live in Kenya for a period of at least 5 years
• Capable of setting and achieving commercial objectives in line with HilverdaFlorist objectives and business strategy.
• Capable of dealing with, and respecting, Kenyan culture, thinking and working methods.
• A pragmatic, people manager with proven success when it comes to leadership, sales and change.
• Teamplayer with a working method that focuses on quality for both the customers and the organization.
• Capable of finding new clients and customers and further developing relationships with existing customers
• A strong affinity with finance and organizational development.

Murara Plants is a leading specialist plant propagator in Africa and focuses on the supply of Alstroemeria, Dianthus, Gerbera, Gypshophila, Helleborus, Limonium, Scabiosa and Salvia young plant material for the cultivation of cut flowers, pot plants, garden and bedding plants.

Murara Plants is focused exclusively on the production and supply of young plant material for HilverdaFlorist and produces almost all vegetative propagation material for HilverdaFlorist. In addition, Murara Plants sells HilverdaFlorist’s range in the African region.
